Little Nightmares ist ein Rätsel-Jump-’n’-Run-Adventure und wurde von Tarsier Studios entwickelt. Bandai Namco Entertainment veröffentlichte das Spiel im April 2017 für Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 und Xbox One. Im Mai 2018 folgte eine Version für die Nintendo Switch, im Juni 2020 für Google Stadia und im Dezember 2023 für iOS und Android. Für die PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2 und PC kam im Oktober 2025 die sogenannte Enhanced Edition heraus. Im Februar 2021 wurde der Nachfolger Little Nightmares II veröffentlicht. Im Oktober 2025 folgte mit Little Nightmares III ein dritter Teil, der jedoch nicht mehr von Tarsier, sondern von Supermassive Games entwickelt wurde.

Story

Little Nightmares follows Six, a small, raincoat-clad child trapped in a mysterious underwater vessel called the Maw. The Maw is inhabited by grotesque, monstrous residents who prey on the helpless. As Six navigates through disturbing environments, she must solve puzzles and avoid being captured. The journey gradually reveals the dark and oppressive nature of the Maw and its inhabitants. Driven by hunger and desperation, Six’s actions ultimately reflect the cycle of predation within the world she inhabits.
